Object with Name worked with Unroll Surface, a material-centered lifestyle brand, to develop a tray product that could be used with the Zero V lamp, a light with an air sterilizing function. The Observatory tray is the result of considering both the impression of the Zero V lamp and the design language of the Unroll Surface.

We first conducted research on Unroll Surface’s products. As their slogan, “Unroll the surface to see the material”, their products are designed to satisfy both functionality and aesthetics with simple surfaces that unfold and roll up.
We thought about a design that would make the Zero V lamp look attractive while faithfully following the product design language of Unroll Surface. We designed the part where the lamp is fixed high so that the shape of the lamp and tray combined would look like an observatory or lighthouse.
